Corn Dogs
They come in different sizes, regular or X-tra long footlong!
Regular ones are great from Sonic...but the real footlong treat must be found at your local county fair.
Nobody makes corndogs like Carnies!!
Mini Corndogs
The mini ones are fun too!
I like to order these at James Coney Island and Buffalo Wild Wings!
Corn Dog Appetizer
A very elegant selection of corndog bites....haha
The Unicorn Corndog

Unicorn Dog ($5.50), sliced open and stuffed with grilled onions, cream cheese, and sriracha. Each dog is hand-dipped in a homemade batter made from flour, fresh corn, eggs, buttermilk, butter, and the unusual addition of brown sugar, which makes these corn dogs a bit sweeter than more traditional varieties.

11 hotdogs
3 cups yellow self-rising corn meal mix
3 eggs
1/4 cup oil
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
Preheat oven to 425°. In a stand mixer, mix all of the ingredients together leaving out the hot dogs of course! Once the mix is smooth, pour into a very greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Place the hot dogs in the batter according to the picture (I only had 10 hot dogs). Bake for 22-25 minutes or until corn bread is cooked through. Let cool slightly, then with a sharp knife cut around each hot dog insuring each dog is surrounded by corn bread. Serve with favorite condiments. Makes 11 Corn Dogs.

ReplyDeleteLove it! We just ate corndogs for lunch today! YUMMMM....
ReplyDeleteThe best corndogs I ever ate came from a little stand that would park in front of what was the old Wal-Mart in DeRidder. We got one every time we saw the little stand--even if we weren't hungry! Justin and I were just reminiscing about those the other day and wishing they still came around...
